FXhome is a software development company that creates amazing software for budding film-makers and photographers. In 2011, FXhome released their new product, HitFilm, a comprehensive and powerful video editing and VFX program.
To accompany the release of the new product, FXhome wanted to include and release a number of VFX tutorials to take advantage of YouTube and their broad social-media community. Lambda Films were commissioned to shoot the base video, on to which FXhome would add the VFX via HitFilm. The crew embarked on an epic 4-day shoot, in an internal studio and an abandoned airbase, recreating scenes from hit films such as Harry Potter, Terminator, Superman and Deep Impact.
With the release of HitFilm in July 2011, the tutorials are now being released either through YouTube or bundled with the software.
