Cambridgeshire & Peterborough

The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority needed an explainer animation to help outline the aims and objectives of the group, in a clear and simple way.

Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority (C&PCA) provided us with their manifesto; to make life better, healthier, and fairer for all. This provided a strong key message to run through the explainer animation. However, C&PCA needed audiences to understand the specifics of what they did, beyond their snappy mission statement.

The aims and objectives of C&PCA are wide and varied, interacting with almost all sectors of daily life. However, we aimed to focus on some of the most important. These included education, transport, health and the economy.

To help visualise the extent of the Authorities involvement, our Cambridge animation team created a style that allowed multiple scenes within a frame. The heavy use of line work, also allowed us to represent the interconnectivity of the group and its work.

Initially, our approach utilised a single colour. However, following the script process we chose to colour individual scenes to represent the different areas of focus. The earthy colour palette worked well to help break up scenes, without becoming too overwhelming.
