Smokefree Norfolk

Quitting smoking can be tough, and Smokefree Norfolk is on a mission to support people doing just that. To help their cause, we produced a series of educational animations that explains the science behind smoking cessation.

Smokefree Norfolk came to Lambda Films with a great creative metaphor for the science of smoking cessation. However, they required our animation skills to bring it to life.

The birds-in-a-nest concept became the core visual in our project. Therefore, we based the design language of the whole animation around that key image. We tailored our approach towards a minimalist aesthetic, with abstract characters and a combination of block colours and sketched effect.

The current series includes three animations; The Introduction, Birds in a Nest and Reasons for Smoking Relapse. There are plans for further collaboration with the Norwich-based organisation, producing animations to explore additional techniques for smoking cessation. These will include appearances from a variety of new birds to represent scientific concepts.

For additional animation work, take a look at our animation portfolio. Similar projects include our minimalist approach to The Gazette, or our explainer animation for aromatherapy inhalers, Aromastick.
