In support of International Women’s Day 2021, we collaborated with artist Marcia X to create a visual treatment of Marcia’s poem, The Body.
The Body questions the idea of gender norms and how society perpetuates them; specifically with regard to femininity and the idea of ‘female’. It also explores toxic masculinity, with references to the events that triggered the #metoo movement in 2017.
It was a pleasure to work with a talent such as Marcia X, and create an impactful, visual contribution to #IWD2021.
This piece was a passion project for our team. It was the opportunity to work with a talented artist and contribute content to International Women’s Day; an important global cause. We work in a male-dominated industry, and as history has proved, a toxic one at that. We gave our time and skills to produce The Body as a way of showing support for the cause.
Passion projects are important to us, and help unify our team around causes which matter to us. Our most recent passion project is Rising Tide, a short film to raise awareness of oceanic pollution. Rising Tide was launched on World Ocean Day.
